Opened in 2016, Golden Cow has become Charlotte’s most iconic family-owned ice cream shop. We started with a 2 quart ice cream maker and a dream. Today we serve our city with three locations, provide our staff with living wages, promote philanthropy and inclusion as our mission, and make the best ice cream you can find. Why Golden Cow is Different:
Scratch made….not kidding. Nearly all small-batch ice cream is made on-site but this does not mean it’s unique, fresh, or different than most other shops. We make all our ice cream in our dedicated Charlotte ice cream kitchen using only the finest and freshest ingredients.
What sets us apart:
We’re curious and stubborn. When we started, we wanted to make the best ice cream possible not just ice cream like everyone else. Because of this we made our lives a lot harder at first but now our ice cream is unique and you’ll taste the difference. Over many years and thousands of tubs we developed truly unique recipes for every flavor that set us apart from the rest.
We also don’t use any flavor bases, syrups, or commercial ‘mixes’. This enables us to make every flavor from scratch to create any ice cream imaginable the way we want without any unnecessary chemical junk.
Our Flavors:
We serve 14 flavors at a time; 6 standard flavors and 8 rotating flavors. Always including a vegan option.
Our standards are classic favorites we feel every ice cream shop must have while our rotating flavors get wild and crazy. Our rotating flavors change constantly, even throughout the day so we can keep everything fresh and fun.
